Fellows

The Avenir Fellows Program was created for graduate students and recent graduates who want to gain hands-on experience in global health. Fellows work across a range of engagements — from client projects to internal initiatives — contributing meaningfully from day one. Join a dynamic and collaborative team working on hard business problems in global health and life sciences!

Tracks

  • The Global Health Strategy Fellow will work closely with senior team members across active client-facing engagements and internal strategic initiatives. No two projects look the same, and fellows are expected to move between topic areas and deliverable types with intellectual curiosity and adaptability — often with autonomy to drive workstreams from start to finish. This is a hybrid role requiring periodic in-person collaboration days in Boston/Cambridge. It is well-suited to a current graduate student or recent graduate who wants substantive exposure to strategy consulting in global health and life sciences, with direct mentorship from senior practitioners.

  • We believe AI should work harder for underserved populations. Our AI for Global Health Fellow works at the intersection of applied AI and global health — building tools and designing solutions that support better decision-making for our global partners and stakeholders. This Fellow will work at the intersection of AI tooling and advisory work — supporting a live platform development effort and helping embed AI-enabled workflows across the firm. You will have the opportunity to work on a technical build with our team and support workflow integration and upskilling.

Eligibility

To be considered for the Avenir Fellows program, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Currently enrolled in a graduate program (MPH, MBA, MS, or equivalent) or graduated within the past year

  • Experience in global health, pharmaceutical or medtech industry, consulting, or adjacent fields

  • Highly motivated self-starter with learning orientation and collaboration mindset

  • Available up to 10 hours per week during the Fellowship period

  • Based in or able to work in-person in Boston, MA

  • Authorized to work in the United States

Process

We run multiple Fellows cohorts a year and review applications on a rolling basis within each window.

How it works

  1. Submit application. A brief form to share your experience, timing, and interest in the program. (See links above)

  2. Initial review. We read every application and reach out to candidates whose background suggests a good match with the program.

  3. Meet and greet. A conversation with a member of the Avenir team to learn more about your interests and answer your questions.

  4. Case interview. A focused, case-based interview with two team members — built around the kind of work our fellows do.

  5. Decision. We'll respond promptly after the case interview.
